Anthony Taylor appointed referee for Spurs clash on opening weekend

Anthony Taylor has been appointed as the referee for Manchester City's crunch match at Tottenham on the final day (Sunday 15th August) of the Premier League opening weekend.

ANTHONY TAYLOR

Taylor has taken charge of twenty-nine matches involving City and the referee doesn't have a great reputation when officiating games involving the Blues. Guardiola's team has won only eighteen of the games he's officiated, losing six and drawing five. Taylor has dished out 45 yellow cards and three red cards to City players in those games. Taylor last officiated City's 2-1 loss to Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium in May.
