Chris Kavanagh appointed referee for Manchester City vs Leicester on Boxing Day
The Premier League has announced Chris Kavanagh as the man in the middle when City host Leicester City this Boxing Day (Covid-permitting) with kick-off at 15:00 GMT.
Chris Kavanagh
The 36-year-old has refereed games involving the current Premier League champions just six times. Whilst Pep Guardiola's side have never been beaten with Kavanagh as the referee, they have dropped points on two occasions – winning the other four.
Some notable games officiated by Kavanagh include the 2-2 draw away to Newcastle in 2019 when Kevin De Bruyne unleashed THAT volley, a Manchester derby at Old Trafford in December of last year, the 5-0 demolition of West Brom at the Hawthorns in January, and the 4-1 win over Wolves at the Etihad in March.
