Since becoming an official Premier League referee in August 2020, the 38-year-old has overseen four league matches involving Pep Guardiola's side, all of which have been at the Etihad Stadium. The Blues have a 100% win rate when England is the man with the whistle.

He has taken charge of two City games this season, the first one resulting in a 4-2 win over Crystal Palace, which was Erling Haaland's first hat trick in a City shirt – a lot has happened since then. Whilst the second fixture was the 2-1 win over Fulham, where England produced a red card for Joao Cancelo.

The Englishman has taken control of 14 Premier League games this season, showing 50 yellow cards during that time – averaging 3.57 cards per game. England hasn't shown anyone a red card since he gave Cancelo his marching orders, but he did send off Nathaniel Chalobah for Fulham earlier on in the season.
