Erling Haaland will join Man City as deal is DONE and announcement expected this week

Erling Haaland will join Manchester City - let me repeat that - Erling Haaland will join Manchester City. The Norwegian superstar is very close to being a City player, with the Premier League champions informing Borussia Dortmund that they will activate his release and all that's left is for that release clause to be paid and an official announcement, which is expected this week.

It's over. This saga is finished. Finally. Manchester City have longed for a superstar striker signing for near-on SIX YEARS. This all began in the summer of 2016 with the public pursuit of Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez, which resulted in the player joining Jose Mourinho's Manchester United, a lot has changed since then: City even have a new Argentine striker for the Nord to ply his trade alongside.

David Ornstein of The Athletic has confirmed that this deal is done. You no longer have to worry. Nothing can go wrong now. It is finished. Erling Haaland will don the famous sky blue that his father did during the late 90s and early 00s. Personal terms have been long agreed between the player and the club and this week they have informed Borussia Dortmund that they will pay the release clause in the contract, and the German club are anticipating that notification in the coming days.

Sky Sport in Germany state that the €75m release clause will be paid in full and in one instalment - rather than multiple instalments, as is usually the case with these big money transfers. Manchester City CEO Ferran Soriano informed his Borussia Dortmund counterpart Hans-Joachim Watzke of his club's decision to trigger the release clause last week, according to the German outlet.

It is of extreme importance to Erling Haaland that he can bid farewell to Borussia Dortmund's fans in their final home game of the season this Saturday, which means that an official announcement is expected in advance of that game: this week. Sky state that the striker is drawn to England's Premier League, of which City have been champions of in three of the last four seasons - and are leading this year's race - also the chance to work under Pep Guardiola has been a major factor.

City have fended off interest from Real, Barcelona, PSG, basically all of European's major clubs and have been successful in signing the superstar striker in world football right now. The twenty one year old is a big City supporter, pictured numerous times in City shirts and being a member of a City supporters club, there is no doubt where his allergenics lie, but now it will be as a player.
