"Julian Alvarez helps Erling Haaland score more" - Pep Guardiola pre Bristol City Press Conference

Pep Guardiola briefly spoke to the media in his pre match press conference ahead of a trip to Bristol City in the FA Cup this Tuesday - Julian Alvarez, Kalvin Phillips, Bristol City, Kevin De Bruyne, John Stones, and Aymeric Laporte were all discussed by the City boss.

How are City playing?

"Exceptional."
"Well, after Nottingham we were not consistent but after one game we were consistent. Of course it is not exceptional but it is good. No complaints. After the last game I said the mood is exceptional and it is. We are playing in three competitions, tomorrow [in the FA Cup], and the Champions League is another chance. In terms of the Premier League I think many things are going to happen..."

Kalvin Phillips:

"Rodri is so important for us, Kalvin is adapting and some players need a little more time. It was so important for him to play in the last game. We will see [if he plays] tomorrow."

John Stones, Aymeric Laporte, and Kevin De Bruyne:

"We have training this afternoon. Kevin is much better!"

Bristol City:

"Last twelve games [and] no defeat says they are a good team. [Nigel] Pearson did well at Leicester and Watford. It is the FA Cup - it is a final. A serious team will play tomorrow."
"From my experience in this country from the past six years, when you go away from home in the FA Cup against a Championship team, it is always tough. That is why we are flying there tomorrow. We will do what we have to do."

Arsenal:

"We play a lot of games, we played two days ago, did not get much time to watch Bristol. I will try tonight to watch them. This is why I do not have time to watch Arsenal."

Julian Alvarez:

"When he plays behind Haaland he is so quick. First goal [against Bournemouth] he moved in the right pocket. He is always there. We need an extra man in the box. It helps Erling to score more."
