Paul Tierney appointed as referee for Everton vs Manchester City
In a crucial clash in the Premier League title race, the Premier League has appointed Paul Tierney as the referee for Manchester City vs Everton in this Saturday's 17:30 kick-off.
Manchester City have a pretty impressive record whilst the 41-year-old has been in charge having losing just two of 20 games and winning 17. The first of those two losses came in 2019 when Pep Guardiola's side fell to a 2-1 defeat at Newcastle and the next came this season against Leicester City in the Community Shield.
Tierney also took charge when City visited Anfield this season, a game in which he memorably never awarded James Milner an obvious second yellow card - something that angered all City fans and particularly Guardiola. As for cards the Englishmen has given out, he averages 4 yellows per game but only 1 red in 19 Premier League games.
