Paul Tierney to officiate Chelsea vs Manchester City
Paul Tierney has been appointed to officiate Manchester City's upcoming Premier League game against Chelsea. City will be looking to bounce back after their disappointing draw at home to Everton on New Year's Eve.
The Blues travel to West London to face Graham Potter's side on the 5th of January at 20:00 (GMT) in the first of back-to-back games between the sides. The game is available to watch on Sky Sports Main Event/Sky Sports Premier League in the United Kingdom.

The Wigan-born official will referee City for the 24th time in his career this Thursday. His last outing with Pep Guardiola's side was at the end of August as City thrashed Nottingham Forest 6-0, a game in which Erling Haaland scored his second hat trick in a row. However, this will be Tierney's first time refereeing a game between City and Chelsea.

The 42-year-old has handed out 46 yellow cards in his 13 appearances in the Premier League this season, along with two red cards. For City, Tierney has handed out 31 yellow cards and zero red cards in his past 23 appearances.
