The Merseyside-born official will referee his second Manchester City match this season, his first being a disappointing 2-1 loss at home to Brentford. Throughout his career, he has refereed four City games, with the Blues only coming out on top in two of them. His most memorable game was a 2-1 comeback for City, which saw both John Stones and Matty Cash get sent off.
In his 17 appearances across all competitions this season, the 40-year-old has handed out 72 yellow cards, averaging 4.2 per game. His only red card this season came in the third round of the Carabao Cup.
