Reports: Leeds set to complete £15m Jack Harrison deal and hold interest in Yangel Herrera

Manchester City could be in line to receive an influx of cash from Leeds United this summer, with the club reportedly set to finally complete the signing of Jack Harrison and rumoured to be interested in Yangel Herrera.

Last month, David Anderson of The Mirror reported Jack Harrison would permanently sign for Leeds on July 1st after including a purchase option on the forward when they took him back on loan last summer. Anderson reported that while a fee was undisclosed, it is believed to be between £10million and £15million. It was added that Leeds originally planned to sign the player permanently last summer but came to an agreement with City to postpone the deal for twelve months.

This summer, there look to be no postponements, with Stuart Brennan of the Manchester Evening News reporting that the 24-year-old is set to complete his move to Elland Road this week in a deal that could reach £15million. Brennan reports that neither club is making known details of the fee.

Harrison represents another significant deal made through the City Football Group model and the academy for players with limited or no first-team experience, with the money generated providing a nice balance in the financial books for incoming transfers and other expenses.

Much has been made of the relatively small figure set to be made from the Harrison deal, but as suggested by Anderson, the deal looks to have been agreed last summer before being delayed - perhaps due to the pandemic straining finances - so, the winger's excellent debut season in the Premier League under Marcelo Bielsa would not be accounted for.

City are also in line to receive 15% from Jadon Sancho's pending move to Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund, with Simon Stone of the BBC reporting that percentage to be across the total fee agreed between United and the Bundesliga side.

Brahim Diaz looks set to complete a permanent move from Real Madrid to AC Milan this summer, too, and City were said to have inserted a 15% sell-on clause on the deal that took the youngster to Madrid as well (40% if he went to 'another Manchester club').

The likes of Yangel Herrera and Lukas Nmecha are also set to aid the generation of income, with a host of Bundesliga clubs reportedly interested in the striker, who impressed for Germany U21 and Anderlecht over the last year. Herrera is another player reportedly in demand, with Leeds the lastest to be linked to the Venezuelan, who has been ruled out of Copa America action with a minor fracture to his right tibia.

LUFCFANZONE are exclusively reporting that, according to Herrera's agent, Leeds have approached City about the possibility of signing the midfielder, but it's reportedly nothing more than that at the moment, with the agent adding that Leeds side are not the only club to approach him about his client.

Whatever may happen in terms of incomings this summer, City are set to generate money from players who made little to no appearances at the club this summer, which can only help their efforts to secure their top targets.

McDonnell reports that the move should be finalised in the next 24 hours, with the 19-year-old needing to complete a medical before the move is complete.
