Reports: Manchester City have tabled the best offer for Erling Haaland so far

We're seemingly approaching decision time for Erling Haaland regarding his future – and the latest reports from Germany claim Manchester City have tabled the best offer for the striker so far whilst detailing the position of two of their La Liga rivals in the race for the signing.

Reliable Patrick Berger of SPORT1 in Germany reports that the Premier League champions have made the best proposal for the Nord, with Real Madrid still in the running for the player and considering matching the offer presented by the Blues. Berger also claims Barcelona are as good as out of the race to sign the 80 goals in 80 appearances for Borussia Dortmund forward.

Berger informs that the 21-year-old has yet to make a final decision on where he will be playing next season, but he and his team will be deciding soon, as we approach what the journalist describes as ‘crunch time’.

Earlier in the day, Berger revealed on ‘Die Dortmund-Woche’, as relayed by BVB Newsblog, that City's offer is said to be close to the Team Haaland demands of 25million per season net (after-tax), which is roughly €480,000 per week. When converted to pound sterling, that's just over £400,000. It is important to stress, however, that the offer is reportedly ‘close’ to this figure and not that exact figure itself.

Reports linking Haaland to City have intensified in recent days, and the consensus appears to be that the Premier League leaders are the frontrunners for the sharpshooter's signature along with Real Madrid, with a final decision expected in the coming weeks.
