Riyad Mahrez on target as Algeria run Botswana ragged - International Roundup (29/3/21)

It was a quiet night of internationals tonight as Riyad Mahrez was the only Manchester City representative in action as his Algeria side faced Botswana in AFCON 2021 qualification. An infinite number of City representatives would not have been enough to overshadow the monumental news of Sergio Agüero's summer farewell, which dropped unexpectedly at 8:00 p.m. BST on Monday.

Riyad Mahrez captained the side and scored Algeria's third via the penalty spot as Les Fennecs beat Botswana in their sixth and final AFCON qualifier 5-0 tonight, having already qualified for the tournament in November. With 90 minutes under his belt, Riyad is expected to fly back to Manchester now with international duty over for the 30-year-old.

Upcoming fixtures:

Luxembourg v Portugal, Belgium v Belarus - Tuesday

England v Poland, Spain v Kosovo, Germany v North Macedonia and Ukraine v Kazakhstan - Wednesday
