Robert Jones appointed as referee for Crystal Palace vs Manchester City

After a hard-fought 2-0 win at home against Newcastle, Manchester City will travel to London ahead of Saturday to face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. Robert Jones will take over the officiating duties for City's 27th game of the Premier League campaign.

Palace have not always been a straightforward opponent for City in the recent past, as the Premier League champions look to pile on the pressure on Arsenal and cut their lead at the top of the table to two points before they play on Sunday.

Robert Jones

Jones will referee his sixth game involving City. The 35-year-old has been a good omen for the Blues, with City having won all of the previous five games where he has taken charge, with a 17-1 aggregate scoreline in their favour.

This will be Jones' fourth game officiating for City this season, with two of them coming in the Premier League and the other coming in the 4-0 demolition of Chelsea in the FA Cup. The Merseyside-based referee has shown six yellows but has also awarded three spot-kicks to City this season.
