Robert Jones appointed as referee for Manchester City vs Chelsea in the FA Cup
Following their 1-0 away win at Stamford Bridge on Thursday evening, Pep Guardiola's side will face Chelsea once again, but this time at the Etihad in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup. The FA has appointed Robert Jones as the referee.

Rather new to the Blues, Jones has only ever refereed City three times. Most recently, the 35-year-old took charge when the Premier League champions won 1-0 away at Leicester last October. The other games consist of wins at home against Wycombe Wanderers and Birmingham City in the cup.

As for cards, Jones has handed out 41 yellow cards in 11 Premier League appearances this season, averaging 3.7 cards per game, none of which have been a red card. In fact, it'll be a year ago to the day, on Sunday, since Jones last showed a red.
The Merseyside-born referee was also the fourth official for City's trip to Chelsea in the week.
