Sergio Aguero to attend his statue unveiling at Etihad Stadium
Manchester City are set to unveil a long-lasting tribute to club legend Sergio Aguero on the ten-year anniversary of his goal against Queens Park Rangers that snatched the title away from Manchester United in the last moments of the 2011/12 season to land the Blues their first Premier League title – and the Argentine is in Manchester for the occasion.
City will unveil the sculpture created by Andy Scott, who was also commissioned to produce the statues for Vincent Kompany and David Silva, with the unforgettable memory of Aguero spinning his shirt above his head after scoring to be immortalised outside the Etihad Stadium's East Stand, according to Simon Bajkowski of the Manchester Evening News.

On his Instagram story yesterday evening, City's greatest goalscorer revealed he was back in Manchester, with the club having prepared some gifts ahead of today's 93:20 ten-year anniversary celebrations involving members of the 2011/12 squad.
Speaking ahead of the statue unveiling, Aguero expressed his pride and gratitude and reminisced on the moment that saw his name etched into football history:
"Truthfully, it is a very beautiful thing for me. In those ten years, I was able to win a lot of trophies and was able to help the club become one of the most important in the world. I am very grateful to the club for making this statue in recognition of my football career in Manchester. It is something very special. I remember I was very young, to see myself ten years ago is very moving."
City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak highlighted the importance of Aguero's goal and its lasting impact on the football club and celebrated the newly-inducted Premier League Hall of Famer:
"It's the moment that, I think, changed everything. If you look at the ten years since that was the moment that introduced what lies ahead. He is absolutely deserving and, I think, a legend for this club."
Al Mubarak would also highlight what Kompany – another newly-inducted Premier League Hall of Famer, Silva, and Aguero represent in the football world:
"These players, Vincent Kompany, David Silva and now Sergio Aguero, represent a type of football that is enjoyable, that is beautiful on the eye, that is effective and that brought with it a lot of trophies."
